Digital Contract Signing: Step by Step with Auria
Signing an employment contract is still, in many companies, a physical process: print, sign, scan, file. A process that can take days if the employee is not in the office, and that generates mountains of paper that must be retained by law.
What legal validity does electronic signature have in Spain?
Electronic signature is governed by the EU eIDAS Regulation and Law 59/2003. In Spain, the advanced electronic signature — which includes a unique identifier of the signatory and detects any subsequent modification — has the same legal validity as a handwritten signature for employment contracts.
Auria uses advanced electronic signature. Each signed document includes: verified identity of the signatory, timestamp, document fingerprint, and a complete audit trail.
The process step by step
- Upload the contract as a PDF from the HR dashboard.
- Select the recipient — the employee receives a link by email or in-app notification.
- The employee signs from their mobile in under 2 minutes.
- Both parties receive the signed document automatically.
- Auria archives it in the employee's file with all signature metadata.
What documents can you sign?
Permanent, temporary, and part-time employment contracts. Amendments to terms and conditions. Termination letters. Remote working agreements. Any document requiring an employee's signature.
Paper does not provide more legal security than a digital signature. It just creates more work.
